Your ability to make a difference doesn't end when you vote.  Know who your elected officials are.  Learn about their duties and responsibilities so you can assess how well they're performing in their roles. 

Don't hesitate to contact them to share your opinion -- whether you're complimenting them for a job well done, asking them to take action on an issue or expressing disappointment in their actions.
